Job Description
Patriot Lifting LLC is seeking an experienced, professional mobile crane operator for a full-time position operating hydraulic mobile cranes ranging from 30 tons to 165 tons.
This position includes boom truck, truck crane, and all-terrain crane work, with a strong focus on larger mobile crane operations. The right candidate must be able to confidently and safely operate our crane fleet, including:
- Grove GMK5165-2
- Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2
- Grove TMS9000E
- National NBT30H-2 Boom Truck
We are looking for a safety-first operator with excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and a professional presence on customer and general contractor job sites.
The ideal candidate understands that every lift requires careful planning, accurate setup, clear communication, and strict compliance with load charts, lift plans, manufacturer requirements, and jobsite safety procedures.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Current NCCCO mobile crane operator certification
- Current and valid Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum of 5 years of mobile crane operating experience
- Proven experience operating hydraulic mobile cranes in the 165-ton class
- Ability to safely operate a Grove GMK5165-2 or comparable all-terrain crane
- Experience operating a Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 or comparable crane
- Strong understanding of crane load charts, setup requirements, outrigger configurations, ground conditions, rigging practices, and lift planning
- Ability to accurately assess working radius, boom length, hook height, capacity, and crane configuration
- Clean and acceptable driving record
- Ability to provide a current five-year Motor Vehicle Record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Dependable transportation and the ability to report reliably to the Jenkinsburg/McDonough area
- Ability to work varying hours based on scheduled crane operations
- Positive attitude, sound judgment, dependability, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Professional appearance and communication when interacting with customers and jobsite personnel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating Grove, Liebherr, and National cranes
- Experience with HVAC lifts, rooftop equipment, steel erection, precast concrete, industrial equipment, tanks, utility work, trusses, and equipment offloading
- Experience working from engineered or detailed lift plans
- Experience performing crane transport, counterweight installation, and multi-crane fleet operations
- Current rigging or signalperson qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge related to crane inspection and maintenance
- Experience working directly with general contractors, mechanical contractors, industrial facilities, utilities, and construction companies
Responsibilities
- Safely operate hydraulic mobile cranes ranging from 30 tons to 165 tons
- Operate boom trucks, truck cranes, and all-terrain cranes as assigned
- Perform crane setup, outrigger deployment, lifting operations, repositioning, teardown, and travel-related duties
- Review and follow crane load charts, lift plans, manufacturer guidance, and jobsite requirements
- Evaluate working radius, boom configuration, hook height, load weight, site access, ground conditions, and surrounding hazards
- Perform and document required pre-operational and daily crane inspections
- Complete job tickets, inspection reports, timesheets, and other required paperwork accurately and on time
- Work closely with lift directors, riggers, signalpersons, truck drivers, customers, project managers, and site supervision
- Identify unsafe conditions and exercise stop-work authority when necessary
- Maintain proper load control and clear communication throughout lifting operations
- Assist with crane care, cleanliness, inspections, and maintenance reporting
- Represent Patriot Lifting professionally on every jobsite
Compensation
- $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
- Compensation is based on experience, certifications, equipment knowledge, driving qualifications, and demonstrated operating ability
- Overtime opportunities may be available
- Benefits may be available in accordance with current company policy
